SLADE ALIVE! 1972


Slade Alive! fue un álbum en vivo lanzado por la banda británica de rock Slade. El álbum fue lanzado el 24 de marzo de 1972 y alcanzó el número dos en las listas británicas, además de ser el primer álbum de Slade en hacer mella en el 200 del Billboard en gringolandia country. El álbum contenía canciones originales, además de versiones de canciones de Ten Years After, The Lovin 'Spoonful, Bobby Marchan y Steppenwolf. El álbum fue grabado en vivo en el Command Theatre Studio y mezclado en los estudios Olympic.
En su formato LP de vinilo original, el álbum se publicó en una portada desplegable que reveló un dibujo enorme de dibujos animados en el interior. Este dibujo fue la obra ganadora en un concurso organizado en el diario The Sun del Reino Unido para diseñar la portada del álbum.

SAVOY BROWN _ Discografia...

 Originalmente llamado The Savoy Brown Blues Band, el grupo con razón se puede tomar el crédito para cortar el himno de despedida del boom del blues británico década de 1960, bajo la forma de un blues moderno, apropiadamente titulado "Train to Nowhere". Cantante Chris Youlden unió a la banda en 1968 y muchos discos clásicos aparecierón con canciones como "Estoy cansado" y "Louisiana Blues", convirtiéndose en basicos de la radio. En 1971, Youlden había partido en su carrera en solitario y miembros de la banda Dave Peverett, Roger Earle , y Tony Stevens tambien hicieron lo propio para formar su propio grupo Foghat.
Kim Simmonds reconstruyó la banda con antiguos miembros de la banda de blues Chicken Shack y el gritante Dave Walker. Ese año, "Street Corner Talking" llevó a la banda su mejor éxito en las listas hasta esa fecha. FOGHAT - Discografia -

 Foghat  
comenzó su carrera en 1971 como un grupo de jóvenes británicos más bien modestos con un afecto por el blues afrogringo y 50 de rock 'n' roll. A mediados de la década, se habían convertido en una banda de grandes giras y grabando conciertos ante grandes audiencias en estadios, tocando un tipo de boogie-rock. Su aspecto llamativo creció, su sonido grueso y pesado,se mantuvo siempre presente.
Desde el punto de vista de algunos críticos, Foghat indebidamente puso en peligro sus principios basados en el blues  con el fin de obtener ventajas comerciales. Ciertamente, sus exitos a mediados de los 70 ("Slow Ride", "Wheel Drivin '", "Stone Blue") no iban dirigidas a los puristas del rock del mundo. Pero también es cierto que ellos continuaron grabando blues tradicional y material de R & B a lo largo de sus años con los expedientes de Bearsville. De hecho, los álbumes finales de Foghat en Bearsville reafirmaron su amor por la tradicional música afrogringa sin alterar.
Solitario Peverett Dave (voz principal, guitarra), Precio Rod (guitarra), Tony Stevens (bajo) y Roger Earl (batería), todos salieron de la vital,tupida escena de blues en londres de los '60s.Peverett (nacido en 1943) se dio a conocer como líder de The Cross Ties Blues Band,luego sirvió una restricción con Swiss rock group Les Questions.. A partir de ahí, regresó a Gran Bretaña y se unió a Savoy Brown, que ya se habían establecido con su "Shake Down" álbum. Como guitarrista Savoy Brown ritmo y, más tarde, el vocalista, Peverett apareció en la banda de "Getting To The Point", "Blue Matter", "Un paso más", "Raw Sienna" y "Looking In" álbumes.

The "Foghat" LP (1972) was produced by Dave Edmunds, whose idiosyncratic style in the studio can be heard throughout the album. "Dave was very much into early Elvis and the Sun Records thing," Peverett recalls. "I loved the phasing effects he got on the vocals. He wasn't scared to try off-the-wall sound ideas."

Foghat's eponymously titled first LP reached #127 on the U.S. album charts, with the single "I Just Want To Make Love To You" gaining them a bit of radio attention. The band quickly followed this up by recording and releasing "What A Shame," which crept up to #82. Produced by Edmunds, "What A Shame" would later be included in remixed form on their second album, "Foghat" (aka "Rock & Roll").
