 Foghat  
comenzó su carrera en 1971 como un grupo de jóvenes británicos más bien modestos con un afecto por el blues afrogringo y 50 de rock 'n' roll. A mediados de la década, se habían convertido en una banda de grandes giras y grabando conciertos ante grandes audiencias en estadios, tocando un tipo de boogie-rock. Su aspecto llamativo creció, su sonido grueso y pesado,se mantuvo siempre presente.

Desde el punto de vista de algunos críticos, Foghat indebidamente puso en peligro sus principios basados en el blues  con el fin de obtener ventajas comerciales. Ciertamente, sus exitos a mediados de los 70 ("Slow Ride", "Wheel Drivin '", "Stone Blue") no iban dirigidas a los puristas del rock del mundo. Pero también es cierto que ellos continuaron grabando blues tradicional y material de R & B a lo largo de sus años con los expedientes de Bearsville. De hecho, los álbumes finales de Foghat en Bearsville reafirmaron su amor por la tradicional música afrogringa sin alterar.

Como guitarrista Savoy Brown ritmo y, más tarde, el vocalista, Peverett apareció en la banda de "Getting To The Point", "Blue Matter", "Un paso más", "Raw Sienna" y "Looking In" álbumes.

The "Foghat" LP (1972) was produced by Dave Edmunds, whose idiosyncratic style in the studio can be heard throughout the album. "Dave was very much into early Elvis and the Sun Records thing," Peverett recalls. "I loved the phasing effects he got on the vocals. He wasn't scared to try off-the-wall sound ideas." Foghat's eponymously titled first LP reached #127 on the U.S. album charts, with the single "I Just Want To Make Love To You" gaining them a bit of radio attention. The band quickly followed this up by recording and releasing "What A Shame," which crept up to #82. Produced by Edmunds, "What A Shame" would later be included in remixed form on their second album, "Foghat" (aka "Rock & Roll").

SWEET- Discografia

SWEET es una historia de éxito que se inicia en 1970. Cuando Brian Connolly y Mick Tucker dejaron Wainwright Gentlemen en 1968 para formar su propia banda "Sweetshop", más tarde acortado a "The Sweet", poco sabían lo que les esperaba. Reclutaron a Steve Priest en el bajo que estaba ganando una reputación con su banda, The Army. Después de dos guitarristas, Frank Torpey y Stewart y Mick cuatro individuos mas que no dieron el ancho,la banda estaba en una encrucijada, casi a punto de tronar cuando Andy Scott, de la banda elástica, se unió. Fue muy ecléctica, como la Reina, pero sin una pizca de profundidad - textos se redujeron al tema perenne de la sexualidad. Sobrevivir en alturas dulce sólo pudo hasta 1979. La composición final fue exitoso single "Love Is Like Oxygen", publicado como un único contrato con la firma Polyidor, que ha ganado nueve escaños en el británico y americano 10 Top.

  El álbum fue editado en el Reino Unido el 28 de octubre de 1977 por la discográfica Virgin Records causando inmediatamente controversia por la inclusión de la palabra "Bollocks" (testículos en inglés británico informal) en el título. Pronto, se iniciaron acciones legales para censurar el nombre y prohibir la exhibición del álbum en las tiendas de discos, como ya había hecho el dueño de Virgin Records Richard Branson en su local de Nottingham. El 24 de noviembre de 1977, el abogado defensor de Branson y los Pistols, John Mortimer, logró demostrar al jurado que la palabra "bollocks" era un uso legítimo en inglés antiguo para decir sacerdote, por lo cual, simplemente no tenía ningún sentido en el contexto del título. Ante la validez del argumento de Mortimer el jurado sentenció que:
  Por mucho que mis colegas y yo deploremos la explotación de los peores aspectos de la naturaleza humana con el fin de lograr beneficios comerciales como lo hace usted y su compañía, debemos a regañadientes declararlo inocente de los cuatro cargos.
Sin embargo, mucho mayor fue la controversia generada por las letras de "Anarchy in the U.K." y "God Save the Queen", así como el arte de portada de Jamie Reid para el sencillo de esta última. Ambas canciones fueron marcadas como insultos a la sociedad civil y a la monarquía y particularmente "God Save the Queen" hacia la reina Isabel II. Ante esto, el vocalista Johnny Rotten y el gutarrista Steve Jones insistieron en afirmar que el ataque no era hacia la reina en particular sino que hacia el gobierno británico en general. De cualquier manera, la controversia no hizo más que aumentar las ventas del álbum.
Otra canción que causó revuelo en el Reino Unido fue "Pretty Vacant", sin embargo en este caso no por su letra sino por la peculiar pronunciación de Johnny Rotten en la palabra "vacant". Su exagerada acentuación en la sílaba "cant" emulaba fonéticamente a la palabra "cunt" (un vulgarismo inglés para decir vagina). A pesar de las suspicacias, Rotten nunca admitió que esa haya sido su intención.
Never Mind the Bollocks también marcó un punto de inflexión en el punk rock por la producción musical. El productor Chris Thomas se esmeró en trabajar el sonido clarificándolo y agregando guitarras a las grabaciones originales en lugar de lanzar el álbum con la música sin refinar como era característico en los grupos del género. Esta movida causó cierto rechazo por parte de algunos sectores del mismo.
Muchas versiones anteriores de los temas habían sido emitidas en el Bootleg Spunk, editado poco antes del lanzamiento de Never Mind the Bollocks.

Listas e influencia

Never Mind the Bollocks llegó pronto al # 1 en la lista británica de álbumes más vendidos, sin embargo, en la lista estadounidense de Billboard solo llegó al # 106. En 1998, los lectores de la Revista Q lo votaron como mejor álbum de la historia, mientras que en 2000 la misma revista lo colocó # 10 en su lista de los 100 mejores discos británicos de todos los tiempos. La primera versión británica del álbum tenía originalmente once temas hasta que la banda cambió su parecer y solicitó la inclusión de "Submission". Slaughter & The Dogs Es una banda de punk rock Inglés que se formó a finales de 1970 en Manchester, Inglaterra. Ellos fueron una de las primeras bandas de punk del Reino Unido que firmaron para una gran discográfica, Decca Records.

Formada en Wythenshawe, Manchester,La Carniceria y los perros, un nombre que Wayne Barrett creó en 1975 la combinación de Diamond Dogs & Slaughter On 10th Ave, dos de sus álbumes favoritos.Apoyaron a los Sex Pistols en su ahora legendario concierto en el Manchester Lesser Free Trade Hall el 20 de julio de 1976.Este concierto, más que cualquier otro acontecimiento, dio lugar a la escena del Punk Rock en Manchester city.Esa escena se concentró en torno al Eléctric Circus club y alentó a varias bandas, entre ellos Alberto y lost Trios Paranoias, Buzzcocks, John Cooper Clarke, The distractions, John Dowie, The Drones, The Durutti Column, The Fall, The Freshies, Joy Division, Magazine, Ed Banger y The Nosebleeds, The Passage, así como Slaughter & The Dogs. The Oppressed

The Oppressed fue una Banda galesa antifascista Oi!, formada en 1981 y disuelta en 2006. La mayoría de los músicos de la banda eran skinheads. A lo largo de la carrera de la banda, los miembros (especialmente el vocalista, Roddy Moreno) abiertamente expresaban su oposición al racismo y al fascismo, en las letras, entrevistas, comentarios en escena y en otras ocasiones. En 1989 Moreno visitó Nueva York y conoció a muchos miembros de la organización Skinheads Against Racial Prejudice (SHARP). A su retorno al Reino Unido empezó a promover los ideales de SHARP a los skinheads británicos. El grupo tiene también lazos con otros grupos antifascistas, tales como Anti-Fascist Action. Moreno es seguidor del Cardiff City F. C. y algunas de las canciones del grupo expresan esa afición.
